Club Training Schedule

Our regular training sessions are listed below.

Competent run leaders can provide you with a training schedule to help you attain your target and offer advice on warming up and how to avoid injuries.

Important: From Autumn through to Spring high visibility clothing is essential.

Club runs

The Monday Club Run is usually shorter in distance (4-5 miles) which may be more suitable for newer runners. While we are pleased to welcome runners of any standard, i.e. pace is not important, although you must be able to run/jog three or four miles without stopping. Experienced runners are assigned to run at the rear to ensure nobody is left behind. Thursday Club Run follows the same format as Monday but is a little longer in distance (5-7 miles). Meet at the Rowing Club at 18:15; Lesser paced to set off at 18:20; Medium paced 18:25; Remaining runners to leave by 18:30.

The Tuesday speedwork sessions are suitable for all running abilities and aim to improve your speed. Meet at 18:30, locations change in the Summer and Winter months (see Facebook posts or message committee prior).

Before attending your first session with please contact the Club Secretary and/or Membership Secretary so that we know to expect you

Runners should always advise the run leader on arrival of any medical issues.

Any U18's wishing to attend must first be approved by committee and sign a disclaimer. A qualified run leader will then be assigned to the session.

We would ask you to turn up a little earlier so we can put you in the right pace group.
